Seating Accommodations
Hogfish is committed to offering accessible seating options. Standard seats do not have arm rests. All seats are movable, so access seating can be adjusted based on audience needs prior to the show.
Access ticketing is available at every ticket price level - we ask audience members to specify access needs when purchasing their ticket.
For example, below are some access requests we can accommodate:
Aisle seating
Wider seating options
Wheelchair seating
Companion seating
Service animals (at this point we are not able to accommodate emotional support animals)
This is not an exhaustive list. Have questions about access needs? Write to us at info@hogfish.org or call at (207) 358-0598 and we’ll be happy to discuss.
Lounge Access
During all performances, there will be access to a quiet lounge area outside of the theater, equipped with sensory supports. This space will remain open throughout the show. Audience members are welcome to leave their seats and enter the lounge at any time.
Saturday Matinee
For Saturday’s matinee performance, Hogfish is taking extra steps to prioritize our neurodiverse and disabled community members.
Relaxed Performance
Audience members are encouraged to move about the space and vocalize as needed. This expectation will be communicated to the audience prior to the show.
During a relaxed performance, it is okay to make noise and movement in the audience for any reason. Audience members may enter and exit the theater during the performance as needed. A lounge/quiet space will be available throughout the show and sensory supports will be available to borrow from the house management team. We ask that attendees please not shush or otherwise police the behavior of fellow audience members.
Lighting
Halo at Thompson’s Point has significant glazing that lets in outside light. During this matinee performance, the ambient daylight will allow for a lower contrast lighting design as well as greater visibility within the seating area.
ASL Interpretation
Saturday’s performance will include American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for the length of the show as well as the post-show dance party.
We ask that audience members interested in ASL interpretation please indicate so when purchasing tickets so we can prioritize sightlines to the interpreter(s).
Audio Description
Saturday’s show will include an audio describer providing narration of visual elements through handheld audio receivers and headsets. We ask that audience members interested in audio description please indicate so when purchasing tickets so we can allocate receivers.
